(Lincoln, NE) -- Drought in Nebraska is worsening. This week's US Drought Monitor Map shows all of Nebraska either abnormally dry or in some level of drought. Most of the state (88%) is in moderate Fifty-one percent of the state is in severe drought. There are two extreme drought locations in far northwest Nebraska and in northeast Nebraska (portions of Antelope and Knox counties). All of Iowa is in some form of drought as well.

A few storms may clip portions of the area this afternoon and evening, with potential for a few stronger, hail-producing storms. However, higher chances will be to our east.
Looking ahead to the weekend, expect dry weather with highs in the 60s and 70s.
