Des Moines Officers Cleared In Deadly Shooting

(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa Attorney General's Office says three Des Moines Police officers were justified, in the fatal shooting of a man last month. Police stopped Joshua Green for traffic violations September 16th. Police say Green sped away and led police on a chase. Once stopped, Green started shooting at officers, hitting one in the arm, and a second in the head. The officers returned fire, killing Green. The A-G's report finds the use of deadly force was justified. Both of the officers have since been released from the hospital.

A copy of the report is available here.

Earlier this week, the Polk County Attorney's office stated the officers were justified, and no charges would be filed.
