(Rock Island, IL) -- Lightning struck a house in Rock Island last night.
That's what the Rock Island Fire Chief believes was the cause of a fire at a home on Partridge Circle off Ridgewood Road in southwest Rock Island late Thursday.
He says lightning from last night's storms likely started a fire that crews said had flames reaching heights of 30 to 40 feet.
Two people escaped the home without injury.
