(Des Moines, IA) -- A Des Moines police officer is hurt after taking an arson suspect into custody.
Police say the officer tried to approach 46 year-old Tohamad Fowler in connection to an arson investigation and outstanding drug-related warrants. Fowler ran from the officer, who was able to catch him, but the officer suffered multiple non life-threatening injuries during the chase including a separated shoulder and a cut to his head.
Fowler is being held in the Polk County Jail facing multiple charges.
