(Van Horne, IA) -- An investigation is underway after an attempted ATM theft in eastern Iowa.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office says at around 4:00 a.m. Sunday, November 17, the suspects tried to use a pickup truck stolen out of Iowa City to try to remove the ATM machine from Chelsea Savings Bank in Van Horne.
Officers say they were unable to break into the machine and fled the scene before officers arrived.
The truck was later found abandoned and was determined to be stolen out of Iowa City.
