(Des Moines, IA) -- Drake University's School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC) is adding a new major, aimed at sportscasting. Sports Media and Communication will be offered starting next fall, in 2025.
The school says the new program will allow students to access media around its various athletics programs, including football, men's and women's basketball, and the Drake Relays. It will also allow students to work with the Drake Broadcast System (DBS).
Drake says it is hosting a virtual open house tomorrow (Thurs.) starting at 6 p.m. profiling all SJMC programs, including this newest addition. Interested attendees can sign up at the Drake website.
