A Des Moines man is in custody and charged with robbing the same Git 'N' Go twice this month.

Police responded to the store 2140 E. Park Avenue just after 11 p.m. on Thursday. The clerk told police a suspect had threatened him with a knife and robbed the store of cigarettes and cash, before running away. The store clerk reported that they believed this may be the same person who robbed the store on November 11th of this year.

Officers spotted 50-year-old Thomas Frommelt near SE 21st and E. Park Avenue. He ran from police, later found hiding behind a garage in the 2100 block of E. Hughes Avenue.

Police say Frommelt was non-compliant, and was bitten by a police K-9 during his arrest.

He's facing two felony robbery charges and is in custody in the Polk County Jail.
