(Des Moines, IA) -- The number of Iowans experiencing a drug-related death are as high as those dying in car accidents.
Data from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services shows that as of July 31st, Iowa had recorded 250 drug-related deaths.
The total number of drug-related deaths last year was 446.
Deaths from car accidents in the state hover around 400 annually.
