Nebraska State Patrol Drug Arrests

The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers arrested four people over the weekend after finding over 30 pounds of cocaine and nearly 30 pounds of marijuana in separate traffic stops.

The NSP says on Saturday about 8:45 a.m., a trooper made a traffic stop for improper passing.

During the stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity, and a search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 33 pounds of cocaine in a hidden compartment.

The driver, 34-year - old Raquel Rocha, and the passenger, 45-year - old Jonathan Cardenas, were arrested on charges of possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver, and child abuse without injury.

Both were taken to the Hamilton County Jail.

The child in the vehicle is in protective care.

Later Saturday morning, Patrol investigators say a trooper made a traffic stop for a speeding violation and noticed an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

A search revealed 29 pounds of marijuana located in a large black duffle bag.

The driver, 27-year - old Anthony Lewis, of Lincoln, and the passenger, 31-year - old Demitrius De Shun, also of Lincoln, were arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana (more than one pound).

They are being held in the Keith County Jail.
