Scammers are especially busy during the Christmas shopping season, and today is most especially busy with it being "Cyber Monday."
"Watch for, you know, links that are may be sent to you by text or email so they're coming to you rather than you initiating them," says Jim Hegarty of the "Midwest Plains Better Business Bureau."
He says today is probably a great day to stay with trustworthy businesses you know instead of businesses you just heard about through text or email.
Hegarty also says victims can include people applying for holiday seasonal jobs as scammers will post fake help wanted ads.
