(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Community School District is laying out plans for a program to help students chose a career.
The Freshman Academy, and Career Pathways programs are elective courses, where freshman can discover a career path, then be in one course focused on that path.
The District says the program is designed to provide opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications, college credits, and hands-on experience.
Planned renovations at Jefferson and Washington high schools will create dedicated space for the courses.
