(Undated) -- It's been cold and breezy in eastern Iowa. How windy? John Haase is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, and he's got the answer.

"The highest wind gust was 66 miles an hour in Cedar Rapids," Haase says. "Moline airport had a 58 mile an hour wind and here at the weather office in Davenport we had 56."

But those conditions are expected to change by the weekend.

"It's gonna be a dramatic warmup," Haase says. "We're looking at highs on Saturday well in 40s. Sunday, a lot of locations will be in the lower to mid 50s. That's at least 10 degrees above normal."

He says it's too early to tell whether a white Christmas is imminent.

Based on Statistics from 1981 to 2010, Cedar Rapids has a 47% chance of a White Christmas. Iowa City has a 40% chance. The same data gives the Quad Cities a 43% chance of snow for the holiday.
