(Rock Island, IL) -- The city of Rock Island is re-dedicating its City Hall today.
Residents can view the first major renovations to the building in its 84 year history at an open house following a ceremony at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon.
The two-and-a-quarter million dollar project updated security, removed asbestos, and redesigned the council chambers and first floor administration areas.
Several historic art deco features were retained or restored.
The city used American Rescue Plan funds for the upgrades.
