(Ames, IA) -- There is a used musical instrument drive underway this month at Stephens Auditorium in Ames. Donated instruments will be distributed to area schools for use in their band & music programs. Sixty instruments were donated last year to schools in Story County. Instruments that can be hand carried can be brought to Stephens Auditorium anytime it's open to the public this month for performances and when the box office is open. Organizers stress: No pianos please.
“After last year’s resounding success, it was an easy decision to revive the Used Instrument Drive,” said Tammy Koolbeck, Stephens Auditorium’s Executive Director. “Throughout the year, we heard from teachers and parents about the impact of this program and the community loved being able to drop off their used instruments. This is just another example of Stephens Auditorium supporting our mission and vision within our community.”
