(Omaha, NE) -- Construction on the new Crossroads development is slated to begin next spring. The Woodbury Corporation is taking ownership on Wednesday, December 18th, with plans to redevelop the space estimated to cost nearly $900-million dollars. This first phase of new construction includes building a large entertainment venue, residential, retail, office space, a plaza, and public parking operated by the city.
The vacant Crossroads Mall previously located west of 72nd Street, between Cass and Dodge, was demolished beginning in December of 2020, and since then, the city says new streets, sewers, and utilities have been installed in the space. KJ Ventures was in charge of demolition and upgrades, and owned the property during the interim. Woodbury Corporation is under contract to purchase the remainder of the Crossroads site from KJ Ventures.
