Two people are in custody in connection with a drive-by shooting in Des Moines.

Des Moines Police responded to a home in the Watrous Heights neighborhood on Monday. They found a house hit by nearly a dozen bullets. No one inside the home, including two children, was hurt.

The investigation revealed more than 30 rounds had been fired from three different caliber guns.

An investigation over the next three days revealed surveillance video and social media postings that led to the recovery of a stolen car believed to be used in the shooting. Police also were able to identify one of the suspects as 19-year-old Bryan Keith Rainey.

On December 19th, Rainey attempted to flee on foot from officers, but was quickly caught. A gun was found in his pants when he was taken into custody. 18-year-old Hamid Lula was also found and later arrested at Rainey's home with two guns in his possession.

Both Rainey and Lula are in custody in the Polk County Jail facing several different charges.

Police say two other people were a part of the drive-by shooting that have yet to be identified.
