Man Under Arrest For Threatening Mass Shooting At Iowa State University

(Ames, Iowa) -- Swift action by law enforcement prevented a potential shooting at Iowa State University.

Tanner Bandy is accused of stalking and harassing a woman, as well as pre-planning an attack at a graduation ceremony at Hilton Coliseum. Bandy was apprehended while attempting to renew his firearm permit at the Story County Sheriff's Office. Investigators found guns and ammunition while searching Bandy's residence. University officials informed students and faculty, and the targeted woman was not harmed. Bandy is charged with five counts of stalking and one count of stalking-possession of a dangerous weapon.
