(Davenport, IA) -- More than 20 volunteers are on temporary leave as several Davenport programs become the latest to suffer from cuts to federal AmeriCorps funding.

Davenport Junior Theatre, Common Chord, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and the Putnam Museum will be feeling the effects after the city was forced to shutdown the volunteer program.

Davenport's portion of the $400 million in nationwide AmeriCorps funding, including the city's matching funds, totals around $920,000 dollars.
