Waukee Residents Report Odors as Diesel Spills Into Creek

(Waukee, IA) -- An above-ground diesel storage tank lost nearly 4,000 gallons of fuel on Saturday, prompting an investigation by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The DNR says most of the fuel was contained on the agricultural site near Dallas Center, but some trickled into Little Walnut Creek. They realized that when Waukee residents reported odors later in the day. The DNR said measures were taken to stop the spread in the creek. The cause of the spill remains under investigation.
