(Des Moines, IA) -- A man standing on the outer ledge of a high-rise downtown Des Moines parking garage on Sunday was safely talked down by police. A caller alerted dispatchers that the man was standing outside the guardrail on the top floor, at least ten stories above the ground.
According to a post by the Des Moines Police Department on Facebook, officers negotiated with the man for more than an hour and a half before successfully convincing him to climb back over the ledge. He was then taken by officers to receive help.
