(SHERIDAN COUNTY, NE) -- Health officials have confirmed Nebraska’s first measles case of the year in the Panhandle.
The Panhandle Public Health District says the case involves a vaccinated child with no recent travel history, suggesting potential local transmission. Possible public exposure sites include the Family Dollar in Rushville on May 17 and the Gordon Clinic on May 21. The child's symptoms were mild, and they are recovering.
Officials urge residents to check their measles vaccination status and stay home for 21 days if exposed without confirmed immunity.
