(West Des Moines, IA) -- First responders have recovered the body of the 18-year-old swimmer who went missing Sunday in the Raccoon River.
The body of the unidentified male was pulled from the river this morning at Raccoon River Park.
According to the West Des Moines Police Department, the young man went underwater at the park Sunday evening and did not resurface. The Des Moines Police Department's Metro STAR Dive Team led the search effort. The park’s beach area is currently closed.
