(Des Moines, IA) -- A woman is facing charges and more than a dozen neglected animals are recovered from a mobile home in Des Moines.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at the mobile home in Northeast Des Moines today (Thursday).
At least 18 animals were recovered in poor health, and are currently being examined by the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
41-year-old Michelle Ackelson was taken into custody.
