Polk County Extreme Temperature Plan No Longer In Place

(Polk County, IA) -- The Polk County Extreme Temperature Plan is no longer in place.

Polk County says the decision is based on current and forecasted temperatures from the National Weather Service. The extreme temperature plan for heat is activated when the heat index 95 degrees or above and the heat index does not fall below 75 degrees overnight for two days in a row.
