(Moline, IL) -- A major construction project affecting access to the Rock Island Arsenal gets underway a week from today.
The viaduct that carries traffic over the railroad tracks and River Drive to the Arsenal's Moline gate is being replaced.
Several road closures are expected during the work including parts of River Drive.
Officials say the Moline gate will remain open during the work which is expected to take two years to complete.
