(Cascade, IA) -- Three Cascade High School students face charges for allegedly creating fake nude images of female classmates using artificial intelligence.
The Western Dubuque Community School District says any student charged as a creator or distributor will not be permitted to attend school in person. The district is reviewing policies and cooperating with the law enforcement investigation.
A law signed by Governor Kim Reynolds last year makes creating AI-generated sexual content of minors a crime in Iowa. The incident was reported in April.
