A Dozen Des Moines Area Schools On State List Of Low Performing Schools

(Des Moines, IA) -- A dozen Des Moines area schools made a list of schools needing comprehensive improvement because they were some of the worst performing in the state.

The Iowa Department of Education's report highlights 35 schools statewide that scored in the lowest 5% for performance, or have graduation rates below 66%.

In Des Moines that includes Brubaker, King, and Studebaker Elementary; Goodrell, Harding, Hiatt, Hoyt, and Weeks Middle Schools; East, Lincoln, and North High Schools, and the Virtual Campus.
