(Davenport, IA) -- Seven Davenport schools are on a state list of schools that need comprehensive improvement.
Garfield, Jackson, Jefferson, and Madison, elementaries; Frank L. Smart and Williams Middle Schools; and Mid City High either scored in the lowest 5% statewide, or have graduations rates below 66%.
District Superintendent T.J. Schneckloth says Davenport schools are back to pre-pandemic levels and are putting an increased focus on improving literacy skills moving forward.
In the Iowa QCA, the state report card shows that at least 23 schools didn’t meet basic proficiency standards.
