(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The man convicted of a murder-for-hire plot wants his conviction thrown out and a new trial held.
Lawyers for Andrew Shaw, convicted in August of second-degree murder in the 2018 death of Chris Bagley, says his trial was unfair.
They say the jury received improper instructions, a key defense witness wasn’t allowed to testify, and the jury heard prejudicial evidence.
Attorneys are asking the judge for a hearing before a decision on the request.
