(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Two Cedar Rapids speed cameras shutdown by the state last year will be turned back on next week.
Cedar Rapids Police say the cameras at either end of the S-curve on I-380 downtown will start issuing warnings to drivers next Tuesday, and begin issuing citations January 1st.
The city appealed the shutdown of the two cameras under a new law giving the state the power over traffic cameras that can issue tickets in Iowa.
The cameras are triggered by vehicles travelling 11 miles-an-hour or more over the speed limit.
