(Omaha, NE) -- A Douglas County District Court jury returns a guilty verdict in a homicide that happened last year.
29-year-old Brandon Mikesh is found guilty of 2nd degree murder in the death of 59-year-old Bernard Leonard on May 17th, 2024 near 9th Street and Carter Lake Blvd.
Mikesh was also found guilty of use of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, tampering, and theft by receiving stolen property.
Sentencing is set for February 10th.
