(Central Iowa) -- Libraries across central Iowa are partnering together to release a new map to showcase local libraries.
16 libraries in the region have launched the Central Iowa Libraries Map, which is now available in free, printed edition at participating locations. The campaign's goal is to offer fun incentives for people to check out what local public libraries have to offer.
West Des Moines Public Library Director Traci Glass says, "This is a really fun collaborative effort amongst the 16 central Iowa libraries to put together a map to really encourage people to visit all the libraries in their area."
The map was designed by acclaimed illustrator Kevin Cannon. Participating libraries will be offering unique, themed merchandise for purchase during the campaign, and there are perks for people who share their library visits on social media. Those who post about their visit and use the hashtag #CentralIALibraries will be connected to others visiting their local libraries and also be entered into a monthly prize drawing. At the end of the year, all social media entries will be included in a grand prize drawing.
