Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska will conduct a "Mass Accident Response Exercise" Saturday.

The exercise will be from approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The drill is in preparation for the "Defenders of Freedom Air and Space Show," scheduled for Aug. 8th-9th, and will test emergency response, communication and coordination procedures associated with a large-scale incident.

Offutt AFB personnel will train alongside local emergency response agencies to ensure military and community partners are prepared to respond quickly and effectively during a major emergency.

Members of the public and personnel accessing the base may experience temporary delays at base entry points during the exercise.

Loud sounds, emergency vehicles, and increased activity may also be observed or heard in and around Offutt.

The 55th Wing says all exercise activity is simulated, and there is no cause for public alarm.
