There is a risk of storms in the Des Moines area Thursday night, some could be severe.
WHO Channel 13 Meteorologists say a cold front will approach during the evening with storms expected in central Iowa after sunset. A couple of these storms could be strong to severe with a slight risk for severe weather currently in place for the central and eastern part of the state.
Once this cold front passes, much cooler air will move in for Friday with highs dropping back into the lower 80s.
The weekend will be even cooler with high temperatures only reaching the middle and upper 70s.
