Iowa's blood supplies are at a critical low.

Danielle West with the LifeServe Blood Center says they're down to a two-day supply in some blood types and need donations.

"We usually see a dip in blood supplies in the summer months, but it's been tough already, and we're just getting into summer."  West tells WHO Radio News.

The Van and Bonnie Show will broadcast live, hosting a blood drive with LifeServe Friday morning July 14 at the Valley West Mall.

It starts at 4:59 Friday morning and runs through 1:00 p.m.
