National group gives vest to Urbandale, Iowa police dog

Urbandale, Iowa's Police dog, "Luke" has received bullet and stab-protective vest, donated by a non-profit group called "Vested Interest in K9s."   

The Vested Interest in K9s organization has donated thousands of the protective vests to police dogs across the country.  The vests cost between$1,700 and $2,000.

 Luke's vest is embroidered with the sentiment "In memory of K9 Ty, California City Police Department."   

"Ty" died last year, after being injured in the process of catching a suspect that had attacked police officers.
