Guy robs store too close to Ames, Iowa police station

Ames Police say a man who tried to rob a store this (Friday) morning, really didn't plan it out too well.

Commander Geoff Huff says 37 year old Noah Sanderson attempted to rob the HyVee Drug Store on Main Street, in broad daylight, in front of a lot of witnesses.

The store is also near the Ames Police station, so officers were able to get there quickly.

Police Commander Geoff Huff says Noah Sanderson told a clerk he had a knife, and demanded money. He got away with some, but officers caught him quickly.

Huff says officers used a taser to subdue Sanderson, who is now in the Story County Jail, charged with First Degree Robbery.
