Des Moines report of man in river turns out to be swimmer

You might have noticed all the emergency vehicles Thursday afternoon.  

A river rescue wet team was called out to the MLK Blue Bridge near Fleur Drive.   There were several police cars, an ambulance, a hook and ladder truck and fire rescue crew grabbing life jackets, ready to jump in to save a man reported in the river.

The Police Dispatch call reported a driver saw a man bobbing in the river.

Police say the they found the man after he swam safely to shore.  He told officers he was hot and jumped in for a swim to cool down.
