Helping Kids With Cancer & Farmers Market Goat Cheese Recall

Mary Mendenhall-Core of Pinky Swear joined us in the studio this morning just after the 8:30 news.  Pinky Swear is an organization that helps families that have kids with cancer...mortgage payments, utility bills, car repairs, gas money, etc....things insurance does not cover.  They are holding a fundraiser at Principal Park on Sunday, September 24th.  There will be a 1 mile fun run and a 5K Run/Walk, with a festival following.  To register or to find out more, go to www.PinkySwear.org/events.  To hear the full interview, click below.

If you attended the Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market on July 15th or 22nd and purchased Goat Cheese Curd from the Swede Point Creamery in Madrid, the product has been recalled.  It was packaged in 7 ounce bags with a code date of 7-11.  You can call Swede Point Creamery at 515-231-5900 to arrange for a refund and return of the product.

Monday on Van and Bonnie, we'll have a dietitian on the show as well as Bill Thomas, long-time Washington writer...he'll talk to us about how the media is distorting the real news.

Gene and I are planning to attend the I-Cubs game tonight...maybe we'll see you there!!!

Have a super weekend!

Bonnie
