New things at this weekend's Holiday Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market!

It may be a holiday weekend, but the Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market is still going on Saturday morning from 7AM-Noon.  Kelly Foss joined us in the studio this morning just after the 8:30 news to let us know what we'll find this weekend.  Along with the watermelon, cantalope, peppers, tomatoes and potatoes, you'll also find all things pumpkin-spiced!  There is also entertainment on every corner of the Market.  They have 80 entertainers throughout the season!  Don't forget about the D-Line Shuttle that runs from the Western Gateway Park to the State Capitol Building from 7AM -5PM.  Park anywhere along that line and you get free transportation to the Farmer's Market!  For the entire interview, click below...

We also spoke with United Way President Mary Sellers on Hurricane relief in Texas.  Mary said the nice thing about United Way is that they have local organizations in all communities and will be helping people for years to come.

Be sure to watch along Gray's Lake for the September 11th Tribute to the fallen.  The Air Force and WHO Radio have teamed up to place a flag for every life lost that date along the walkway at Gray's Lake.  They will be up September 8th thru the 12th.  It's a very moving sight!

Also, please place on your calendar, September 29th, from 5-9AM, for our Journey to the Center of the Earth in Ames!  More details coming!!!!

Monday on Van and Bonnie in the Morning, it's Labor Day, but Van and I will be here for you!  We'll have a recap of the weekend football games and much more!

Have a super weekend!

Bonnie
