Chicago woman accused of stabbing, killing sister in Des Moines

Des Moines police say the city's 24th homicide of the year happened after a 31-year-old Chicago woman is accused of stabbing her sister to death early Sunday morning.

Police were called to an apartment building at 6504 Chaffee Road in Des Moines around 1:14am Sunday. In an outer hallway, they found 30 year old Lakeisha McDuffy with multiple stab wounds. She died later at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Charged in her death is her sister, Ieshia McDuffy of Chicago. Both sisters were at the address to visit another relative. Ieshia McDuffy is facing first degree murder charges.
