Woman accused in Iowa rest stop murder pleads not guilty

(Marengo, Iowa)  A woman charged in the death of an Iowa truck driver last month, has pleaded not guilty.  Forty-three-year-old Mariana Lesnic entered a written plea today (Monday) in Iowa County Court.

Lesnic is charged in the shooting death of 60-year-old Ernest Kummer of Monroe.  His body was found in the cab of his truck September 6th, at the Interstate-80 rest stop near Victor.

Lesnic also faces two counts of attempted murder.   

Police have not revealed a motive for the killing. 

Lesnic remains in the Iowa County Jail, on a one million dollar bond  bond.
