(Johnston, Iowa) There's a development in threatening text messages, that forced the Johnston School district to cancel classes on Tuesday.
An overseas hacker group known as "Dark Overlord" is claiming credit for hacking into the district, and sending threatening text messages.
The group has also posted the Johnston school directory online. Johnston Police say there are no credible, physical threats, but they are warning parents to have a "heightened sense of awareness" for the time being.-
West Des Moines Police say they have determined who is responsible for "copycat" threats made at their schools this week. The name of the suspect hasn't been released. West Des Moines did not cancel classes.
