(Des Moines, Iowa) Des Moines Police say a person was shot in the chest, while working on a Chevy Suburban in the 13-hundred block of College Avenue late this (Thursday) morning.
Des Moines Police Spokesman, Sergeant Paul Parezik tells WHO Radio News it appears the male victim and others were working on a vehicle, when someone came from behind a home on College Avenue, and started shooting. Sergeant Parezik says the male, who was shot, has a permit to carry, and returned fire. It's not known if the first shooter was hit. The gunshot victim was taken to Mercy Medical Center and is in stable condition.
Police say witnesses have been cooperative, although some left the scene before officers arrived.
