Iowa Sheriff: Woman posing as nurse taking meds

(Northwood, Iowa)  A northern Iowa sheriff's office is warning about a health care scam, involving a woman going door-to-door, posing as a county health nurse.

The Worth County Sheriff's Office says several residents have let the woman inside, but later discovered their prescription pills are missing.   They say the woman claims to be a therapy nurse, working either for the county or a Home Care service.

The Worth County Sheriff's Office says if someone shows up at you house, make sure they have, and present the proper credential for why they are at your home.

Please call the Worth County Sheriff’s Office at (641) 324-2481 if you have anyone suspicious come to your house for any reason.
