LAKE DELHI, IOWA - A 23-year-old Delhi man is dead after the vehicle he was in plunged through the ice on Lake Delhi.
The Delaware County Sheriff's Office got a call Monday afternoon reporting a vehicle went through the ice near the north end of Lake Delhi.
KCRG-TV reports emergency crews found found the car upside down in about 8 feet of water, and an underwater camera showed one person inside the vehicle.
A diver and a crane were brought to lift the vehicle out of the lake.
The man is been identified as 23-year-old Alex Salow of Delhi.
Sheriff John LeClere says it is likely the vehicle went into the water sometime Sunday evening.
The sheriff's department has not released any further details and says the case remains under investigation.They are being assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
