Man charged in wife's death in Cresco, Iowa

(CRESCO, Iowa)      State investigators have charged a man with murder, in connection with a shooting in the northeast Iowa city of Cresco yesterday (Thursday).

Thirty-four-year-old Brian Fullhart has been charged with First Degree Murder and Going Armed with Intent.   He's in custody in Winneshiek County.

Officers were called to a shooting at 700 South Elm Street in Cresco at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, and when they arrived they were confronted by Fullhart, who was uncooperative, refused to come out,  and threatened to shoot officers.  

He was taken into custody at 6:45 a.m.   Officers then went into the residence and found the body of a woman, who  was later identified as Fullhart's wife, 34-year-old Zoanne Fullhart of Decorah.
