11-Year-Old Girl Whose Dog Died on United Flight Speaks Out

I have so many questions about the death of a dog on a United Airlines flight beyond what I discussed on the radio show.

Meanwhile, the family to whom the dog belonged spoke out Thursday on Good Morning America.

The Ceballos family were traveling back to New York City from Houston with their 10 month old French bulldog puppy. Flight attendants informed them that the pet carrier was not allowed to be under the seat and told them to place it the overhead compartment with the dog inside.

Eleven-year-old Sophia Ceballos told GMA that Kokito was "like a member of the family" saying, "He was like my brother to me."

United Airlines in a statement took full responsibility saying, "This was a tragic accident that should never have occurred".

I didn't know until reading THIS tweet that United has a TERRIBLE record of dealing with animals:

Meanwhile, Jedediah Bila expands on Twitter on some points I made on the show:  HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?

It's NOT United policy to put a dog in the overhead bin.  How did the other flight attendants not intervene?   United says...the attendant did not know that a dog was in the kennel???  But the passengers told the media that they could hear the dog whimpering.

Sure, I've had mostly good experiences with flight attendants.  But we've ALL dealt with that attendant that rules over the plane like a little dictator.  I think it was that type of arrogance that led to this tragic event.
