Candidate's petitions challenged in Iowa governor's race

(DES MOINES, Iowa)   There's been a formal challenge against the campaign petitions of a Republican candidate for Iowa governor.

Craig Robinson, of The Iowa Republican website claims Ron Corbett had duplicate signatures, in his petitions to get on the ballot for the June primary, and did not meet the minimum number of signatures required.

Iowa Secretary of State's Office Spokesman Kevin Hall tells WHO Radio News a review board, made up of Secretary of State Paul Pate, State Auditor Mary Mosiman, and Attorney General Tom Miller will meet soon, likely next week.

Hall says the challenger and the candidate or his campaign will have the chance to state their case and present evidence.  The board will  review the evidence,  and issue a decision.

Challenges for candidate nomination petitions for the June 5th primary must be done by this Friday, March 23rd at 5 p.m.
