Solon, Iowa man admits Cyberstalking girl, texting 170 times

DAVENPORT, Iowa-   A Solon, Iowa man appeared in U.S. Court in Davenport Monday, April 30th, and pleaded guilty to cyberstalking.

Forty-eight-year-old Daniel Lee Stone admitted to texting a minor female over 170 times from on or about October 31, 2016, through November 3, 2016. 

Stone purported to be someone else in the text messages and offered her cash and other “goodies” to become his sugar baby. 

He also sent numerous texts indicating he was watching the female, was outside her home, and described items or places within the female’s residence. The minor female repeatedly asked Stone to leave her alone.

Stone’s sentencing is scheduled for September 12, 2018, before United States District Court Chief Judge John A. Jarvey.  

Stone faces up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.

This case was investigated by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
